Not for the people who just want a working computer.
Not everyone wants OS hopping as a hobby

Cats poop outside.
They just don’t need a chaperone to do so.
Are you claiming dog people who are being forced to walk through blizzards don’t get sick or something?
You got scammed. That one is expired.
I can get you one for a turbovirgin though.
Why wouldn’t it warn you when installing that editor? Doesn’t seem user friendly.
If a techy has troubles with it, imagine a grandma.
The ring worked on the Dark Lord differently, so it definitely might be race bound

They aren’t searching past a basic Google of the issue showing them step by step instructions
Your users are searching for their problems???
Most wouldn’t even do that.

Good on you if you think you can handle the responsibility of being able to completely wreck your OS. The option exists for a reason.
But Windows was made with the average user in mind. And they can’t be trusted with that kind of power.
Though I do question the security issues that arise from doing this. If your account can break everything, so can every software/malware you install.
Being self-reliable takes up a bigger part of the brain.

Are they counting Steamdecks?
Or what is the scope?
That is like saying 10 minutes isn’t even enough to read all the different distros names, let alone pick one. It misses the point.
I can debloat a computer in less than 10 minutes because I do it often when installing a computer for a user. Just run a script that completely removes packages that aren’t needed on work computers.
And that is the reason Linux will not go mainstream.
No average user wants to spend time distro hopping, they want a functioning computer that can do anything they want. A configure and forget.
So they will MUCH rather use Windows or Mac and be done with it than jump to hoops like you are proposing.
