the good ole people using word for projects that are meant to be designed using publisher.

its like eating pasta with solely a spoon. not that you cant, but dont be mad when you get to the point you end up with spaghetti and didnt switch to the proper utencil.

im aware, but its moreso part of the reason publisher is gone because most people just shoehorn the content into word regardless. its religious refusal to change that basically ended publisher. word being older is part of the reason why many people refused yo change their workflow, even though it ultimately would have benefited them more in the long run had they done so.

Don’t get me started on Excel and databases.

I think it’s more that MS always tries to hit all the demographics at once. People who really need it are going to use Quark, Adobe, Corel, or something more use case specific. People who don’t are going to be fine with Pages, Writer, Word, etc. the few times they need something more powerful than a word processor. Publisher ended up in the “no-man’s-land” in the middle.
