  • There are flavours of linux that allow you to just click and install compatible file types. You can easily use Ubuntu your whole life without touching the terminal. Using the terminal allows you to do certain things much faster and easier but that is a skill you need to train if you want to use it.

If you are however talking about trying to run an originally windows native game in linux, then that might turn out to be an advanced problem. So you need to be patient and likely try couple different solutions (starting with the most recent dated one and paying attention to version numbers etc). It might even turn out to be impossible. That is an inescapable consequence of using a non main stream OS, not a problem of the OS itself. But given how the gaming world is shifting to linux, that might change in future and windows users (if any) might start complaining about how hard it is to port games to windows.

  • I get what you mean, I had a similar kind of feeling when I did maths in my PhD too. I think that is an aptitude for mathematical style of thinking. I also love it when things that seem dissociated from each other suddenly becomes part of a single concept when you do a nice abstraction. I guess that is one of the points of abstraction anyway (reduce the number of building blocks as much as possible while keeping the same richness in end results).

  • This is from their website:

"Guided by our values A lot of companies have stated values. At MongoDB, we live by them. Not just on some days. But every day.

    Embrace the Power of Differences

A diverse workforce is the best way to broaden perspectives, foster innovation, and build a sustainable competitive advantage. That’s why we commit to creating a culture of belonging. A culture where people of different origins, backgrounds, and experiences feel valued and heard."

When are they just gonna give up with these HR bullshit?

  • Having a working understanding of what an AI is what it can and can not do, how to identify etc will likely be critical going further. Just because AI hype is a balloon does not mean goverments, coorporations will stop using AI for surveillance, propaganda etc once it pops. So better get acquainted with it.

But if there is such a list of requirements they should also add critical thinking to it.
