Because I wanted to buy a second monitor from that company that buys display panels with dead pixels, cases them and sells them for well below MSRP of the name brands.
I actually do that. Old emails with friends or eBay receipts. eBay deletes your purchase history after a few years for some reason.
All the good ones have been shutdown because they lack MTX.
Or play a better game.
That’s completely understandable.
This is Lemmy. I’m surprised people have are defending any version of Windows, but most outsiders to this community are still very comfy in their surveillance state OS and will mock Linux users.
The slowly boiling pot.
I’ve never used Windows as my main machine, but even before WINE/Proton were as mature as they are now, I never did personal or important work on my Windows installation. It might seem silly to care that Windows was sending back system specs in Win98(or earlier?), but it did it without asking or even informing. It was just such a huge sign of disrespect to the end user and Microsoft has only doubled down on that disrespect for the end user.
Telemetry started way, way earlier then Win 10.

1·3 months agoIt was pretty bad and all the problems were changes from the comic. The comic had the timetable for everything much more believable and went into the benefits of surrogates.

181·3 months agoIt’s one of those status things. They don’t have to take the rings off because they’re wealthy. Fair skin or white cloths meant you didn’t do manual manual outside. Nowadays, tan skin means you have enough downtime to either go to the beach or tanning salon.
I miss when Apple was fun. It’s been a very long time. I dragged some more time out of it with Hackintoshing, but that’s done now.
The Nazis are always mad at any change. Just because they’re angry, doesn’t mean the change is good. Unfortunately, now what should be a discussion about the sterilization of all branding now got wrapped up in the culture wars. If McDonald’s had waited until now to disappear the Ronald McDonald mascot, the Nazis would be complaining about that too.
And yet people will still treat you like a naive kid if you deviate from the norm too much.
It took me years before realizing I needed to change how I ask questions to college admissions. I did 15 years of compulsory education for nothing because I was held to a lower standard then I even tested for. Being railroaded into CC because of that was not something I was willing to do when I finally got legal agency.
Despite making it very clear that I would rather redo 4 years of high school then do 2 years of college, no one suggested I just redo the CC classes at a 4 year. I had to be in a particularly undiplomatic mood to insist that I was asking a policy question, not a life advice question when I inquired if it was possible to redo classes I already got credits for.
That was also in the Bruce Timm animated series. The first crossover with Joker teaming up with Lex where he stole a “Jade” dragon statue that supposedly killed it’s owners with a curse was actually made of Kryptonite and later in Justice League Unlimited had Lex diagnosed with cancer I think. Kryptonite has always been hazardous to humans.
I was triple booting a Hackintosh for a while and kept them on their own drives. You have to because Windows updates like to screw with the UEFI of the drive it’s install on at random time. Somehow, Window was less stable than OS X running on unapproved hardware.

Would you take a Quake-like written in Pascal?
