I still have a retail boxed Windows Vista Ultimate copy new in box! I won it and never opened it. They also gave me a processor and mobo with it… THAT part I was stoked about.

I just replaced the HDD with an SSD and installed Pop!_OS on my partner’s 12-13 year old Levovo with a backup boot to Windows 10 LTSC IoT and it’s still running like a champion! It could use another 8GB RAM but both video cards in it are recognized by both Linux and Windows!

I legit spent the afternoon the other day installing Linux on my first non-Raspberry Pi machine since 2007. It is a 13 year old laptop with NVidia GPUs (2). It went perfectly smoothly and Linux sees both GPUs. I tried Megabonk on it and it runs at 60FPS maxed out. I encrypted the drive. Bless you, Pop!_OS

Netbooks… I sold computers when they came out, and they were pretty much outdated from day one. Would not use.

My 2011 MacBook Pro can play super high rez video just fine… but it was over 2k USD when I got it, it had 16GB RAM, and a SSD. Dedicated video card doesn’t hurt, either. But jeez, he’s almost 15 years old.

I use Windows 10 with OpenShell so I can turn it into Windows 7. I definitely will never use windows 11 hahaha
