Thing is, even if you’re not patient and willing to learn, getting dumped into the deep end, struggling for 3 hours and then giving up and “downgrading” to something like mint or bazzite is still a whole lot better than trying to unfuck windows 11 into a workable state.

Just gonna leave this here for whoever wants to read more on the methodology and potential risks.
Bit of an odd question, but did you try booting it from a USB on that machine and see if it worked alright for a few days with what you wanted it to do? Typically if it works fine from the bootable usb, it shouldn’t really have any issues installing unless your drive is copy protected or something, especially if it’s Mint like you mentioned below, also I’d recommend poking their forums if you haven’t yet, somebody might be able to shed more light on what’s wrong with specific errors and behaviours

I’d swap the chromebook and mac at the end there. The ewaste that is a chromebook is at best a glorified netbook, the macs at least have some decent hardware that can be leveraged.
