Linux@programming.dev•System76 Launches Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS With COSMIC Desktop
10·2 months agoAnybody tried out cosmic and know how it compares to other DEs? More of a tiling WM guy myself but interested cause I heard it’s mostly written in Rust
Thanks, interesting read
Ah, yeah that would be annoying
I actually thought that was interesting. What I really didn’t like is not being able to just set a theme, and when I finally got to the color picker thing it just wouldn’t let me set proper full black (oled). Once themes are easier and it has tree style tabs (like sideberry - not those folders) I would consider switching again.

Linux@programming.dev•Final Benchmarks Of Clear Linux On Intel: ~48% Faster Than Ubuntu Out-Of-The-Box
5·7 months agoUbuntu 25.04 on this server defaults to the intel_cpufreq scaling driver with the “schedutil” governor. Ubuntu still frustratingly defaults to schedutil or powersave governors even on servers… A rather silly default many will argue.
Seems like this accounts for most of the difference from their charts, but still, cool
Don’t know of any video but I’d do the initial setup on desktop cause you need to setup the addons for stremio. Once you have real-debrid + whatever else configured you just use the same account on phones/TVs and it pulls the addons
Set it up with real-debrid as a source, and you have easy streaming of most shows/movies
Does
cargo install --locked rusty-manwork?
Might be nice to have an updated alternative though yeah
I’ve been having issues building stuff in general without
RUSTONIG_DYNAMIC_LIBONIG=1for some reason, but woththaton it built for me
Didn’t know about
rusty-man, that one’s nice

Very cool. This one has piqued my interest more than dcli. I’ll be checking it out when I get the chance
