🤣 I missed floppy’s but I remember those days

I don’t remember why but I was trying to stay on Ubuntu lts on this computer. Honestly I need to just wipe the drive and start over.

I’ve been running Ubuntu lts waiting on a new one, so it’s a me problem as usual. Getting new hardware soon, I’ll play with some big boy distros

I need them to decide on Wayland or x and make the damn switch. I’m tired of switching servers for apps.
I play helldiver’s with them maybe once a week! 😭

Oh man, I remember fondly the days of booting to no gui. Typing out error codes to another computer to Google.
I don’t think I miss it. Linux has been super stable for me for a decade maybe, and I’ve been trying to game on it, so I used to have to fight with “faster” drivers all the time

I don’t even know. Our unit tests are garbage, but they also rewrote the unit tests for the new code. Just didn’t actually check.
I approved this PR. I am culpable as well for not doing my due diligence

Worst part is that it was a principal.

I spent the morning hunting an API call that someone’s ai hallucinated into my code when they were updating it. I’m so done with llm’s
In the book it’s arguably worse. The IT guy is a contractor that never went to the island before.
I love the idea of act but pushing to your branch is a lot faster usually

Linus openly hated Nvidia, but I suspect Nvidia started it

Sadly GPU passthrough only worked on Nvidia cards when I was setting up my server, so I had to get one of them :(
Once you get a few thousand columns wide you create a naughty_list2 for the new data
Not untrue. I don’t understand or give a fuck about the business side. Same goes for my business colleagues about software.
How do “real” engineers handle this shit? I feel like IT shouldn’t have to reinvent it

I got old 😭
I got in after pcs were consumer devices but before the Internet (mostly because I was rural).

It might, I’m mostly mad because it seems like a classic recursion problem. Build a graph of nested references.

I never fuck with auth. If I can throw it up the stack I’ll do it as much as I can. When I can’t I find an open source solution and Im sure I still misconfigure it

I wrote an algorithm that should be recursive but in expediency I wrote a loop that iterates 10 times.
It’s fine but I’m still mad 3 weeks later
They were expensive too. My dad had them for something. and then the media died.
