This is (theoretically) a programmer forum. I use the programmer definition. By that definition, not having an algorithm is nonsense.

I also hate the way “algorithm” has taken over the public consciousness. You can find people unironically saying “I don’t want any algorithm in my social media feed”, which is a nonsensical statement.

Nothing like that in ARM. Even microcontrollers have enough RAM that nobody cares, I guess.

You can buy them new for somewhat reasonable prices. What people should really look at is used 1080ti’s on ebay. They’re going for less than $150 and still play plenty of games perfectly fine. It’s the budget PC gaming deal of the century.

Years ago, older C programmers told me you don’t know C unless you use dynamic memory management. I ended up rarely writing any C, but when I do, it’s usually on microcontrollers where dynamic memory management isn’t even supported out of the box.

I’m a little surprised the police didn’t already know about that method. Seems like they’d encounter enough CCTV footage that’d it’d be standard training.

I once again overestimate the training levels of the police.
