I can’t even say the initial setup was more annoying than Mint.
My main beef is that it keeps eating perfectly good system functions like logging. I liked my syslog files dang it. Yes I am aware I can change it back.
But yeah it works OK. I dislike its monolithic system privilege paradigm
Weve been having a huge argument about what happened to GenY, which i swear was a thing, before they extended the end of gen x and the beginning of gen y to overlap it.
Yeah I can’t imagine what he’s talking about, also why he couldn’t just boot from the Windows disc and reinstall Windows

Self Hosted - Self-hosting your services.@lemmy.ml•I’ve been running my #TrueNAS #homelab for six months now. And as I’m moving more services to it, I need to make sure I also can restore my Docker containers if the server should crash.

Opensuse Tumbleweed tho
I went to the Bovington Tank Museum which I absolutely recommend and sat in a Chieftain and yes it had a teapot
I was trying to fix an old Dell Digital Jukebox and was saved by a random internet comment with a link to the firmware files the commenter had dug up. There’s this concept called net utility - that dude definitely increased the net utility in the world, even if infitesimally
I’m gonna wait a bit to update then, sounds like that might be wise

+1 for Mint. It’s what I give the elders when they need a computer.

1·6 months agoYeah I don’t know either. I had a problem once or twice with it because I powered it off randomly when it locked up under load (did this a lot, this machine is 12 years old and needs maintenance). Btrfs check repair fixed it. Snapper rollback is awesome for updates. Under opensuse at least it seems extremely stable.
