I liked unity when they were trying to do interesting changes. I especially liked the attempt at making apps work with the menu at the top of the screen instead of the top of the window (Mac OS style).
When they gave up on that, it became pointless with nothing useful to add.
Winget , chocolatey, scoop… Windows is feeling almost like a real OS now!
Oh yeah for sure. If only we had “bag detection” I would agree.
I’d argue that an overheating when the lid is closed not in a bag is a major design flaw.
I’ve never seen it but I mostly see business laptops not gaming or consumer laptops so shitty designs are out there I’m sure.
If a laptop lid is closed, it needs to be sleeping, period.
See, and here I feel the exact opposite. If it’s docked I don’t want it going to sleep just because I closed the lid. I still want to be able to use the two screens that are attached and in use!
I have a choice between being watched by cats or a destroyed door.
I’ll take the cats.
There ya go… that’s why not to lock the door! :-D
Clearly you don’t have cats, who see a closed door as a challenge.
Is this some kind of joke going over my head or something?
Run “sudo -i” then run “rm -rf --no-preserve-root”
But you can do that without involving ‘su’.
Starts an interactive session as root (or another user when combined with -u)
… but why? “sudo -i” is a thing. Why get another program involved?

GoG can’t compete because they won’t. They haven’t had a functional Linux client in what, a decade?
They didn’t say it was actually funny, just that it’s their funniest thought of the day.
KSA is supposed to be a spiritual successsor to KSP1. I’ve heard good things but it’s not out yet so hard to say if the reality will live up to it.
Reentry: very different. Very focused on the historical missions: Mercury, Gemini, Apollo. Very simulationist, going for realistic operations. Does a great job of showing just how complicated and manual everything was, how “disconnected” the procedures feel from direct flight, to me anyway. There’s no aspect of building ships at all. But there’s a good bit of potential there too, we’ll see where it goes. For now it’s an amazing peek into history.
Nice. I’m into the space games as well. Lots of hours in Space Engineers and Stellaris. (And Tabletop Simulator playing High Frontier 4.)
Been having (intimidating) fun with Re[-e]ntry and I’m looking forward to Kitten Space Agency.
Yep, the hardware planning all makes a big difference! If you’re looking for Linux-friendly RGB keyboard options I’ve been very happy with Keychron.
I think the only things I’ve “needed” windows for in the last couple years were firmware updates for an Xbox controller and (surprisingly) firmware upgrades for a Steam VR headset and/or base station.
Glad that you are enjoying ARC, I’ve heard only good things about it.

I know it’s a joke but
