The protesters on Tiananmen Square were killed by the military so I guess that technically doesn’t count?
They all have thigh highs, you just don’t see it in the pictures.
Ok, this is making things more clear, although I get the impression I’d have to know way more about the Fr. Revolution, and maybe the following period in France to actually understand it. Was it really politically commonplace already in early 19th c. to demand abolishment of property?
Who’s Maréchal?
leftism is defined by opposition to the status quo
You’ve just introduced a whole other definition of leftism. Also it seems to mean that no leftist society could exist in practice.
the french monarchy was capitalist
From what I can figure out, it was still in principle feudal but moving towards capitalism due to the growth of the bourgeois class. Is that correct?
The political terms “right” and “left” have meant the same thing since the French Revolution.
the weakening or abolishment of capitalism - the traditional dividing line of left and right
Wasn’t the French revolution just abolishing feudalism and the monarchy?

the West has fallen 😞
Strong Ivan Bilibin vibes (but apparently it’s by an another Russian artist, Ernest Lissner).
I never said editing registry files is “common sense”, but in the grand scheme of things it’s very simple and, yes, quite idiot-proof (go here and here, create file this and that, set value to 1). That may count as pro to some but I’m pretty sure it’s not enough to actually work with Linux (which one of my family members uses so I see it in practice).
Besides, considering this comment
Most of those registry keys are not documented, and it’s very hard to be completely sure about what you are touching.
Maybe it’s precisely the fact that I’m brazenly tinkering with registry files that renders me not-as-pro as some might think.
I’ve no idea what that means but ok
By default, LibreWolf deletes the user’s cookies and history when the browser is closed,
I’m not sure if these devs have the same priorities as me D:
Until the next re-bloating update where your settings get reverted
As a Windows user, I’ve had this problem with Firefox browser a number of times, and never with Widows.
I didn’t know I’m already a computer pro by following a couple of idiot-proof steps I found by googling.
It’s fucked up that RT and similar sites with their ratings are so important for so many filmgoers. I would guess it’s because film theatre tickets have become more expensive so people are trying to be as selective as possible with what films they spend their money on.
So people listen to the “average”, go to the movies based on predigested opinions, and end up making their own filmgoing experiences, horizon and taste closer to the average as well. The risk in filmgoing is being minimised (which kind of mirrors the behaviour of the film industry so it’s not without reason that the audiences behave like that, I guess; but it still sucks).

“Like the play” - but where does the stress go? On the final syllable, as in French? (The play was originally written in French.) On the first syllable, as is more usual in British pronunciation of French words? (The author was Irish and apparently this is how he pronounced it - when speaking English.)

I’m eagerly waiting!
